This month is also a busy month for all of us. Upon returning from Thailand for the annual marketing planning meeting, we have been working closely with airlines, NTOs and tour operators. We will continue to introduce a variety of destinations and activities that will make Thailand irresistible.
In 2014 volunteer tourism has been highlighted. Three teams were in Thailand for 10 days volunteering in different parts of the country. They came back and shared their experiences. On August 28, all three teams presented their experiences during the Adventure Connect: Spotlight on Thailand reception hosted by TAT LA at the W Hotel in Hollywood, CA. Team Thai-Namic Trio was chosen to be the winning team earning a $1,000 grant for their Ban Hua Thung village.
Congratulations to Justin, Amy and Sean and special thanks to all volunteers! Feel free to visit the recently updated Thailand's Ultimate Moments volunteer website. Be inspired. Make a change....as it begins with you!
For those who will be in Thailand in September and October, enjoy boat races through out the country. Most of these traditional long boat races originated as festivities that accompanied an ancient ritual called the "Tawt Kathin, – a ritual in which the king made an annual visit to the Royal temples to present the robes to the monks marking the end of the Buddhist Lent. In this issue, we have featured Royal Trophy Nan Boat Races 2014. Visit our PLAY column for more info.
